Baran Nacar

Android & Kotlin Multiplatform Developer

I spent nearly five years on Android TV and Google TV R&D at Beko (Arçelik Group). Now I build and ship my own apps and games for Android and iOS with Kotlin Multiplatform and Unity.

Quiz Flux

Daily trivia game5 languages

Cosmic Arcade-themed daily quiz with leaderboards, jokers, and rewards.

  • Kotlin Multiplatform
  • Compose Multiplatform
  • Coroutines / Flow
  • Ktor
  • SQLDelight
  • Firebase
  • Cloud Functions
  • GitHub Actions

What I built

  • Kotlin Multiplatform app for Android and iOS: the data, domain and ViewModel layers are shared Kotlin code, with platform services behind expect/actual and Swift bridges.
  • Firebase backend with TypeScript Cloud Functions for server-side score validation, reward claims, friend requests and account deletion. The callable functions enforce App Check, and the Firestore rules are tested on the emulator.
  • Leaderboards, friends, achievements and 5 languages, built with Compose Multiplatform and MVVM, Ktor networking, kotlinx.serialization and a SQLDelight question database.
  • 628 unit and 131 instrumented tests, GitHub Actions CI/CD on self-hosted Windows and macOS runners, and a release ledger that ties every store build to its source commit.
  • Quiz Flux: a timed trivia question with four answer choices and the joker bar
  • Quiz Flux: category picker with General Knowledge selected and the Start Quiz button
  • Quiz Flux: achievements and daily streak rewards
  • Quiz Flux: home screen with power-ups, today's boost and daily missions

Smeltara

Idle blacksmith management game7 languages

Build your smithy across 3 cities, craft 72 goods, and upgrade 18 workshops.

  • Unity 6
  • C#
  • URP
  • Unity Gaming Services
  • Unity IAP
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • AdMob

What I built

  • Unity 6 (URP, C#) with a fully procedural scene: one bootstrap builds the camera, world, UI and managers in code, and the systems talk through events.
  • Atomic saves (write to .tmp, replace, recover from .bak) with versioned forward migrations that never drop player progress, plus Cloud Save on Unity Gaming Services.
  • Server-side purchase ledger on Cloudflare Workers and D1 that verifies Google Play orders, grants each purchase token once and handles refunds.
  • Economy balanced with a deterministic simulator. A headless PlayMode smoke test and Editor audits check the build, among them localization parity across 7 languages and a class size limit.
  • Smeltara: a smithy workshop seen from above, with workers crafting goods
  • Smeltara: the upgrade panel of the Axe station at level 48
  • Smeltara: the workshop in the city of Saltmarch
  • Smeltara: the workshop in the snowy city of Frostholm

High Three

Turkish trick-taking card game2 languages

Win the threes, rule the trump: a Turkish card game against three fair bots.

Google PlayApp StoreIn App Store review
  • Unity 6
  • C#
  • .NET
  • NUnit
  • ISMCTS
  • Play Games Services
  • Game Center

What I built

  • Pure C# rules core with no Unity reference: deterministic and seeded, commands in and events out. The same code runs the game, the bots and headless simulations, and builds as plain .NET.
  • Fair bots: each bot sees only what its own seat can see, never the hidden cards. The hardest level samples the possible hidden hands, searches each one (PIMC or ISMCTS) and solves the last tricks exactly.
  • Difficulty levels tuned by measured bot-vs-bot simulation against target win-rate bands.
  • About 990 NUnit tests in 17 test assemblies, plus architecture tests for layer rules. Version 1.0 sends no data off the device, and a release check confirms that no ad, analytics or crash SDK is in the build.
  • High Three: the card table mid-game, with the trump card and the player's hand
  • High Three: end-of-deal summary with a double win for 2 points, card points and unlocked achievements
  • High Three: a bot reacting with a speech bubble during play
  • High Three: new game screen to choose one of three bot opponents and a target score
